Hôtel Le Blizzard
A family-owned five-star hotel at 1,850 metres in the centre of Val d'Isère, 150 metres from the lifts and facing the Bellevarde Olympic run. Seventy rooms and suites, all with balconies.
Why we chose it
Most alpine properties at this level sit apart from the resort. Le Blizzard is in the middle of it - steps from the old village, facing the mountain, and still family-run after decades. Teams end up moving between the hotel, the slopes, and the village without ever needing a transfer, which changes the rhythm of a week.
The bar
The Blizzard bar is an institution in Val d'Isère - open fire, deep sofas, and a bartender who has been there long enough that regulars ask for him by name. This is where most of the useful conversation happens on an alpine offsite. We plan around it rather than against it.
The rooms
Seventy rooms and suites, each individually decorated in wood and warm fabric, all with private balconies facing either the mountain or the village. Several suites have their own fireplace. Nothing is uniform, which is unusual at this scale.
Winter and summer
The obvious version of this location is a winter offsite - sessions in the morning, the mountain in the afternoon. But the property reopens in summer, and at 1,850 metres in July the air is cool, the trails are open, and the resort is almost empty. For a leadership team, the summer version is the quieter and often better one.
